Bean-to-bar chocolate is chocolate made from cacao beans (from scratch). This term exists to differentiate it from chocolates made with cocoa mass (beans already roasted and ground), or chocolates made from ready-made chocolate that is only melted and remolded.
.
The term bean-to-bar suggests that the chocolate manufacturer control all stages of the creation of the bar, from the purchase of beans to roasting, grinding, etc. Its production tends to be much smaller than the big industries, with equipment adapted for small scale and with differentiated care in the choice of raw material, mainly cacao, which makes all the difference in the final result of chocolate.
Single-origin chocolate is made from one variety of cacao harvested in one region. Single-plantation chocolate is made from one variety of cacao harvested on a single farm.

Chocolate is temperamental and will always love a cool dark spot. If the weather is hot, place your chocolates in the fridge until it cools. If chocolate melts and then hardens again, it may appear chalky in appearance and with “cacao fat blooms”. This is because it has partially or fully “fallen” out of temper. The chocolate is still fine to eat and perfectly nutritious, however, you may experience a different mouth feel. We recommend using it to bake or to make this thick Italian vegan hot chocolate 😉
Shipping is free for orders over $60. For orders under $60, shipping is $8,30.
We do our best to ship orders on the same day (cut-off time is 3pm). We do not post on Saturdays, Sundays, or Public / Bank holidays to avoid orders being stuck in transit. Chocolate is heat sensitive so we do our best by always using priority mail and packing all orders nicely and plastic-free. We can not take responsibility if the product arrives melted, please do not order if the temperature is over 30 degrees celsius (86F). To help further with this, we ask that the receiver or someone please be home for the package’s arrival to avoid any heat exposure.
West Coast takes 2-3 business days. Central States & East Coast takes 3-5 business days.
